Just off I90, in Issaquah, Lake Sammamish State Park features pretty much all the things that make a beach worth visiting. Sand, water, parking, multiple playgrounds, hiking trails, sports fields, ample restrooms, concessions stands, open grass fields, a covered eating area, special events and unbridled fun potential.
The Puget Sound is known for its rocky shores spotted with starfish and shellfish, but if you’re after a sandy beach, Alki in West Seattle is near perfection. Bring your buckets & shovels for sand castle construction, or a kite to catch in the breeze. If you’re up for some action, consider renting a kayak or a stand-up paddle board!
Need a weekend away? Head to the Olympic Coast for Ruby Beach National Park. With sandy shores, plentiful wildlife and striking rock outcroppings, Ruby Beach is as breathtaking as it is as tranquil. Visit at low tide, to enjoy starfish, crabs and other sea creatures emerging from beneath the waves.
Located an hour-ish north of Seattle on scenic Camano Island, Cama Beach State Park’s retro vibe lets you step into a bygone era. CBSP offers a range of family-friendly activities including crafts and toy boat making classes as well as loads of wildlife related and outdoorsy fun. Reserve accommodations well in advance for overnight stays.
Hit a fun WA beach and leave the country on the way! You’ll drive through BC to reach this quaint favorite. PR’s beaches are ideal for skipping stones, eagle & whale watching, sunning, watersports and chillaxing. PR delivers loads of idyllic reasons to renew your passport! PS, you can get a passport photo taken at your local Bartell Drugs.
⚠️Warning! Some of the area’s most popular beaches have been recently closed due to high levels of algae and contaminants.
When you’re ready for some down time after splashing around, it’s great to have your own umbrella and lounge chair at the ready. Take a snooze, read a book, or simply take in the views until you’re set to dive back into your next swim session.
Picnics lakeside are half the fun! Make sure your cooler is packed with some of your favorites before you hit the road, and consider a Freez Pak instead of risking a mushy sandwich on a big bag of melting ice.
Make your dip in the lake all the more fun with swim accessories. Explore the depths with a pair of flippers and goggles, or relax on top of the water with a big floatie or inflatable ring. Keep one eye open though in case you have a floatie poacher in your midsts!
Get ready to do a happy dance, we have some GREAT summer inflatables this season. Our favorites? The giant rode bull ride-on float and a giant unicorn sprinkler. We also have plenty of rings and inflatable pools for all ages to enjoy.Learn More
