Food insecurity is up 63% in Western Washington.  Fueled by increases in the cost of living, including housing, food and childcare, many families are turning to their local food banks to help put meals on the table.  Beginning May 26 and running through June 29, your neighborhood Bartell’s will be collecting monetary donations and non-perishable food items to support a local organization, Food Lifeline, that partners with more than 400 food banks, shelters, and meal programs in the 17 counties of Western Washington, serving more than 1.6MM people!  With food and monetary donations down this year, Food Lifeline and its partners are working overtime to meet the increased need in their communities.  Your support will help stock the shelves so that our neighbors will have the food the need.
