BURIEN—Bartell Drugs has moved its downtown Burien store into “temporary quarters” as it prepares for the opening of a totally new store in early 2008 at Redwood Plaza in the heart of Burien.
The interim location is located at 501 SW 148th Street—and the new store is under construction just 300 feet away.
Construction of the City of Burien’s Town Square project prompted the relocation of the original Bartell’s location. The family-owned drugstore chain has served Burien area residents continuously for more than 30 years.
“Moving twice within eight months is a challenge, and we appreciate the patience and loyalty of our customers. In the long run, we will be serving the Burien community with a broader selection of merchandise and new features,” said Bartell Drug’s Chairman and CEO George D. Bartell.
He said the new state-of-the-art store in Burien will feature the company’s signature PixPlus photo and sound department , a drive-thru pharmacy, convenient parking and the exceptional customer service that Bartell’s is known for.
Seattle-based Bartell Drugs owns and operates stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. Family-owned for 117 years, it is the nation's oldest drugstore chain. For more information on Bartell Drugs visit www.bartelldrugs.com.
