FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEATTLE—Bartell Drugs will start “burning the midnight oil” on the Eastside next month with the opening of the company’s newest 24-hour location at Crossroads in Bellevue. The chain’s 53rd store opens to the public Wednesday August 11.
Located at 653 156th Avenue NE, the new store was formerly a fulfillment center for Albertson’s home delivery. At 18,047 square feet it will be one of the company’s larger stores to date and will feature two drive-thru pharmacy lanes as well as expanded convenience food and cosmetic departments.
Bartell Drugs opened its first modern 24-hour location in Queen Anne in 1995.
“With Pharmacists on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this new location will compliment our existing Queen Anne store, enabling us to better serve our customer’s late night or emergency needs on either side of Lake Washington,” said George D. Bartell, chairman and CEO of the family-owned chain.
The full-service store will also feature on-site, one-hour photo finishing, a digital print center, camera and sound products, health and beauty products, nutritional supplements, greeting cards, cosmetics, candy, snacks, housewares, automotive products, pet supplies and more.
The new Crossroads store will employ approximately 40 employee associates and will be managed by Randy Starkel.
Family owned Bartell Drugs owns and operates stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. The 114 year-old company is the nation's oldest drugstore chain.
