FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
EATTLE—Bartell Drugs is helping homeless families and individuals start the day a little easier by collecting new toiletry items for them during their 5th Annual Toiletry Drive, June 21 through July 4. Bartell Drugs and their vendors are kicking the drive off with an initial donation of several thousand items.
The effort is focused on providing toiletries to men, women and children through three organizations that serve King, Snohomish, Pierce, Skagit, San Juan and Island counties.
Customers can drop off or purchase travel size toiletry items at any of Bartell’s 52 locations. Toiletries collected during the drive will be donated to the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle, Everett Gospel Mission and the Tacoma Rescue Mission for distribution among the areas’ homeless throughout the rest of the year. Over the last four years, Bartell Drugs and their customers have donated over 98,000 items.
In addition to the drive, Bartell Drugs will be donating a portion of the proceeds generated from the sale of travel size items to the three missions.
The Union Gospel Mission has been providing aid and comfort to the homeless of Seattle for over 71 years.
The 43-year old Everett Gospel mission provides aid to homeless men, women and children in Snohomish, Skagit, San Juan and Island counties.
Established in 1912, the Tacoma Rescue Mission gives shelter and aid to homeless throughout Pierce County.
Family owned Bartell Drugs owns and operates 52 stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. The 114 year-old company is the nation's oldest drugstore chain.
