New hire, job shift a “family affair” at Bartell Drugs

SEATTLE—Its a “family affair” for two executives at Seattle-based Bartell Drugs, with one spouse taking over the other’s position at the 52-store chain. The changes reflect Bartell’s continuing technological enhancements, which are beneficial to customers as well as internal information systems.
Lisa Leonard has joined Bartell Drugs as director of information technology. She was formerly director of pricing for Safeway, Inc. in Bellevue. In her new position she will oversee IT initiatives for the Seattle-based drugstore chain.
Bill Leonard, former director of information technology, has been named buyer for Bartell Drugs and is supervising a chain-wide expansion of on-site digital photo processing.
The Leonard’s reside in Bellevue.
The Bartell Drug Company is the nation’s oldest drugstore chain. The family-owned company has 52 stores in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.
