FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEATTLE—Runners and walking participants interested in helping out in the fight against breast cancer can pick up informational brochures and entry blanks at Bartell Drugs locations in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties for the City of Hope’s Walk for Hope Against Breast Cancer on October 12. This year’s walk takes place at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah.
Proceeds generated from the 10/5k run or 5k-leisure walk will benefit the City of Hope Foundation, one of the largest private funding sources for research dedicated solely to breast cancer. Last year’s walk raised a record breaking $185,000 towards the prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and cure of breast cancer.
Bartell’s will also be selling the infamous Pink Ribbon Pins in their stores through the month of October for a $1.00 donation. All proceeds from the pin sale will be donated to the City of Hope Foundation. Last year, Bartell customers helped raise an additional $3,200 for this lifesaving research.
For additional information on the event please call 1.800.934.9196 or register online at www.walk4hope.com.
