FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEATTLE—Bartell Drugs stores are designated locations for “Teddy Bear” and cash donations during the 16th Annual KLSY Teddy Bear Patrol campaign, through September 30.
The campaign’s goal is to put a teddy bear in the hands of community police departments and emergency response teams in an effort to help bridge the communication gap between a frightened child and an adult stranger in a crisis situation.
In 2002, over 5,000 bears were collected at Bartell Drugs locations alone. Several donation options are available, including:
- With each purchase of a special teddy bear at all Bartell locations for $7.00, Bartell Drugs will donate a second bear to the Teddy Bear Patrol campaign.
- Monetary donations of $7.00 towards the purchase of a bear will be accepted at all Bartell locations.
- New bears will be collected at all 52 Bartell locations in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties.
Overall, over 27,000 bears were donated to the drive.
Family owned Bartell Drugs operates 52 stores in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties. The 113-year old company is the nation’s oldest drugstore chain.
