FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEATTLE—The lines at Northwest Harvest are getting longer, but donations are becoming scarcer.
In an effort to help keep shelves at Northwest Harvest stocked during the long winter months, Bartell Drugs and KBSG radio have teamed up to help collect canned food for the needy during their 4th annual Northwest Harvest canned food drive, January 20 through February 2.
Customers can drop off canned food items at any Bartell Drugs location through February 2. During the winter months Northwest Harvest’s needs are the greatest.
“People in need can be anyone, even a neighbor,” said George Bartell, chairman and CEO of Bartell Drugs. “We encourage anyone who is able to donate, join us because every can of food makes a difference to someone in need.”
Last year, Bartell Drugs and their customers gathered nearly 9,500 pounds of food during this drive. Northwest Harvest has been providing food for the needy since 1967.
The Bartell Drug Company is the nation’s oldest drugstore chain. The family-owned company has 50 stores in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.
