SEATTLE—Bartell Drugs bolsters its Pierce County presence with the grand opening of its 50th store in University Place on Tuesday, August 6. A dedication ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on that day to mark the occasion.
Bartell’s newest store is located at 2700 Bridgeport Way West. The 15,000 square foot store is part of the redevelopment of the existing Bridgeport Landing shopping mall and is expected to employ approximately 25 employee associates.
The company currently operates two stores in Pierce County, located in Gig Harbor and Tacoma.
“Bartell’s is constantly looking for ways in which we can improve our service to our customers, whether it’s opening a new location or revamping an existing one. This new location will compliment our existing stores in Tacoma and Gig Harbor, enabling us to better serve Pierce County area customers,” said George D. Bartell, CEO and chairman.
The opening of the new University Place store comes about a year after the company opened its 49th store, located in Tacoma.
Complementing Bartell’s long-time tradition of customer service, the new store will boast a complete selection of the company’s products and features, including on-site one hour photo finishing, drive-thru pharmacy, camera and sound products, health and beauty products, nutritional supplements, greeting cards, cosmetics, snacks and convenience foods, housewares, automotive products, pet supplies and more.
Customers will also be able to utilize the store’s convenient location to pick up prescriptions and other items ordered online at www.bartelldrugs.com.
Bartell Drugs is the nation’s oldest drugstore chain. The family-owned company currently owns and operates 50 stores in Pierce, King and Snohomish counties.
