Zoolights
Bartell Drugs was the exclusive discount ticket outlet for Zoolights at the Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma. In its 20th year, Pt. Defiance Zoo has created lighted displays throughout the zoo for everyone’s holiday enjoyment - called Zoolights. Zoolights ran November 23 through January 1.

Salvation Army Toy 'N' Joy Giving Tree
November - December. Bartell Drugs teamed up with the Salvation Army to collect new, unwrapped toys for needy children again this season. From November 19-December 16 all of our stores collected toys for children ages 0-17. The collected toys were distrubited on Christmas week.
Parents/guardians of children who signed up to receive services were then able to go shopping (accompanied by a volunteer) in the Salvation Army's “toy warehouse” to select up to two gifts for their children. Thanks to all of our customers for helping put smiles on children's faces at Christmas time.
Bartells has collected more than $80,000 in toys for needy children in the Puget Sound.
Christmas in the Northwest CD
November - December. Bartell Drugs teamed up for the 7th year with Friendly Voice, Inc. to promote the Christmas in the Northwest Music CD Volume 10. The CD contains a collection of Christmas tunes performed by favorite local artists. Net proceeds from the sale of the CD benefit Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center. The CD tradition began in 1985 as a fund raiser to benefit the Children's Hospital, and continues 20 years later. The CDs were available for purchase for $13.98 at any Bartell Drugstore during November and December. Pumpkin Prowl
October 26th - 28th 5:00 - 8:00 pm
Fun was had by all at Woodland Park Zoo's newly expanded Pumpkin Prowl sponsord by Bartell Drugs. Featuring a ghoulishly fun hay maze, treats for your little goblins, carved pumpkins, live entertainment and see Zoomazium transform into Boomazium! It all toook place over three howling nights.

City of Hope – Walk against Breast Cancer
October 7
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Bartell Drugs was proud to be a Sponsor of this year's City of Hope ‘Walk for Hope’. The event took place Sunday, October 7, 2007, at Sand Point Magnuson Park. Registration brochures were available at all Bartell Drugs' locations. See's Chocolate Bars were also available for purchase. 50% of the proceed from the sale will go to City of Hope. Our customers have helped us raise more than $55,000 to go towards breast cancer research!
Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer is a family-oriented walk and run - including a 5k Walk and 5k/10k Run. Last year the Walk for Hope raised more than $200,000 for Breast Cancer Research and treatment.
The foundation is one of the nation's largest private funders of research dedicated solely to breast cancer. School Tools for Kids in Need
Bartell Drugs, World Vision and STAR 101.5 teamed up for the 4th annual School Tools for Kids in Need program to provide basic school supplies to local school children in low-income neighborhoods.
From August 13 to September 2, we collected school suppy donations at all neighborhood Bartell Drugs. All donations went to World Vision's Storehouse where local teachers have access to free supplies for low income schools. Thanks to our customers we collected 36% more supplies this year for local kids - a grand total of $44,000 since the program began.

Evergreen State Fair
August 23 - September 3
Since the first Evergreen State Fair was held in 1908, the fair has continued to grow in popularity. Last year the fair drew nearly 1,000,000 participants and spectators to enjoy rodeos, car races, carnival rides and animals along with traditional fair activities. This was the 12th year that Bartell Drugs has been a sponsor of the Evergreen State Fair. Bartells was also a sponsoring Family Day on Wednesday, August 29th. Two adults and up to 4 children can get into the fair for $20.
Advanced discount Fair tickets were avaiable at any Bartell Drugstore through September 2nd. Discount Carnival tickets were also available until August 22nd.
Father's Day at the Museum of Flight
June 17. Dad got in for FREE! At the 12th Annual Father’s Day celebration at the Museum of Flight (a $14 value.) There were activities for the entire family throughout the day including:
• Bartells handing out balloons for the kids plus taking and printing family photos.
• Visiting the new exhibit Space: Exploring the New Frontier
• Building candy airplanes and other workshops
• Building cool stuff with a LEGO® Guy
• Entering to win great prizes
Free passes for dad were available at your neighborhood Bartell Drugs.
Fight Hunger
Bartell Drugs once again partnered with 710 KIRO Newsradio and the Girl Scouts for the 2007 Fight Hunger Campaign to benefit Northwest Harvest. This was the 23rd year for 710 KIRO’s Fight Hunger Campaign. Customers brought their donations of non-perishable food to all Bartell Drugs locations throughout the campaign. We collected more than 24,000 pounds of food to benefit Fight Hunger in 2007. Over the last 7 years Bartells has raised more than 155,000 pounds of food to benefit Northwest Harvest.
Northwest Women’s Show
March 23-25. Truly a Northwest tradition for friends, sisters, mothers & daughters! Come & experience 600 exhibits and 5 stages of fashion, fitness, food and fun. The Northwest Women’s Show is the most successful show of its type in Seattle, and this year was the 19th consecutive year of the event. The Northwest Women's Show was held at the Quest Field Event Center March 23-25.
We offered a unique sampling of health, wellness and beauty products and services on the Bartell Drugs' Red Carpet.
Our Pharmacists were at the show to answer any questions visitors had about medications or to test bone density, blood pressure cholesterol or blood glucose level - four important health issues for women today.
Visitors could explore an exciting array of cosmetics and skin care products and, to satisfy their sweet tooth, we featured good-for-you treats and slightly decadent temptations.
Women were also entertained with shows, celebrity speakers, authors, free giveaways and prize drawings.

Teddy Bear Patrol Campaign
March 1-31. Bartell Drugs was proud to be the sponsor of the WARM 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol campaign. The Teddy Bear Patrol campaign puts a Teddy Bear in the hands of community police departments, hospitals and emergency response teams to help bridge the communication gap between a frightened child and an adult stranger. This was the 21st of the Teddy Bear Patrol campaigns and Bartell’s 11th year collecting teddy bears.
During the month of March, all Bartell Drugstores were drop-off points for contributions to the Teddy Bear Patrol campaign. Customers could purchase an official Teddy Bear Patrol bear at any Bartells and we matched the bear with a second one. Customers were also asked to bring new bears, 12” or smaller, into any of our 54 stores.
Thanks to our generous customers who donated to this cause; together we have collected and distributed more than 45,000 bears to emergency response teams throughout Western Washington.
Mission Toiletry Drive
Bartell Drugs and Seattle's Union Gospel Mission teamed up for the 7th Annual Toiletry Drive to support Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, Tacoma Rescue Mission and the Everett Gospel Mission from February 12 - 25th, 2007. Customers purchased or dropped off travel or full sized toiletry items for donation at any Bartell Drugstore. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission has given aid and comfort to those that are homeless of Seattle for over 70 years. The toiletries gained from this drive will provide the Missions with supplies for much of the year. Bartell Drugs over the years has donated more than 50,000 items to Seatle's Union Gospel Mission.
Smile Day
February 10. February was National Dental Health Month and this was the 20th year Bartell Drugs co-sponsored the Annual Smile Day put on by the Seattle King County Dental Society. Smile Day was held February 10, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ranier Valley Community Center. Bartell Drugs was there handing out goodie bags to all the kids. Kids also received free dental checkups, watched dental demonstrations, and received a free toothbrush and toothpaste.
